wondering why the heck I'm still in the GOP

But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

SC, I think you are a liberal and this is a way to just say you are not by voting green knowing it is a vote for Obama. LOL. J/K

Some kind of unpronounceable syndrome?

Well, I've never said I'm not a liberal, and I've also bashed Dems for selling out (and used to be a Rep) so I think you should be loving me right now!

The Gorilla in their Midst Why I Miss the Old School Republicans, and What I Wish They'd Say To Religious Fundamentalists in their Midst
September 5, 2012 by George Takei

At their core, Republicans are for smaller government. That means LESS governmental intrusion into our lives, our affairs, our money. Consistently applied, this is a sound and important philosophy that acts as a counterweight to wasteful government spending, excessive taxation, and Big Brother intrusiveness. It is a “live and let live” attitude. Good people may disagree respectfully whether more or less government is needed in areas such as healthcare and education, whether a larger military or more international intervention is needed, and whether we should cut taxes on the wealthy or raise them.

What I simply can’t understand is why the GOP ignores the gorilla in their tent when it comes to social issues. For a party that prides itself on less government intrusion, it sure seems busy these days telling women and LGBT persons what they can and cannot do. This is not only inconsistent, it is a poor strategy for keeping the party strong, growing, and current.
