Mitt Romney has said he will repeal "Obamacare" on his first day in office, because it's "bad law" and a "job killer."
But that was pre-convention Mitt Romney.
Post-convention Mitt Romney said on Meet the Press today that he supported the provisions of the president's heath care law that prevent insurance companies from denying coverage on the basis of pre-existing conditions and allow adults to remain on their parents' plans until the age of 26. "I'm not getting rid of all of health care reform, of course." Of course, who would have gotten the idea that you wanted to repeal health care reform?
Romney's shift is what the Times refers to as "the emergence of a less openly partisan, more general-election-oriented Republican nominee." Essentially, exactly what Romney's own top advisor predicted and what we're now supposed to feign outrage over.
Oh please, I am not in favor of Obamacare either, but I do like some of the things that passed. If it is 99% crap and 1% good stuff, it still needs to be thrown out and the good stuff passed again.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
Liberals would like people to believe that Republicans are just heartless scum, so there's no chance we would want the few good parts about a poorly thought out bill that was never fully read by anyone who signed it into law.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
