Last weekend I met President Obama at a rally in Seminole FL. I am profoundly Deaf, and lucky enough to have been in the front. When he came by to shake hands, I told him that he was an excellent communicator and easy to lipread -- I didn't have any interpreters. [As you can see in the photo] he thanked me in sign language!

His photographer contacted me yesterday and sent me this photograph. The president surrounds himself with truly wonderful [and helpful] staff." ~M

I agree - both men exhibited class and respect for the other with the handshake. One wishes all here were capable of exhibiting similar behavior on a regular basis instead of in spurts and fits.
