Jon Stewart had an interesting take on Islam. It's only 1,400 years old -- a teenager as it were.

What was Christianity doing at the 1,400 year mark of its existance? Crusades, burning witches, inquisition...

Yes, I was thinking about that this morning... I think the name Mapplethorpe came up at one point... I'm sure the folks of the Catholic Inqusition and the auto-da-fé would have the perfect solution for him; just burn him at the stake. It worked so well for the Jews. As we all know those fun loving guys in the Vatican know how to deal with dissent...

Crusades... 1095 through 1291... nope! Inquisition... which one... the Medieval Inquisition (1184–16th century), the Papal Inquisition (1230s), Spanish Inquisition (1478–1834), Portuguese Inquisition (1536–1821) or the Roman Inquisition (1542).
Burning witches... that goes all the way back to early Judaism... 2nd century BC.

You evidently don't give Islam much credit.

Waiting for Armageddon since 33 AD
