I'm pretty sure they showed up to express their respect and adoration of the United States and current Admininstration foreign policy.

Same thing going on in Libya and Yemen while the State Department issues Travel Awareness Statements throughout the Middle East, Africa and Caucauses. All these people love America and our President.

Yup. Don't look at them or you'll hurt your eyes.

Lots of tear gas being deployed too.
Looks lke the camera position moved to get out of gas.

It would seem that our foreign policy has come unglued not only in Egypt or Libya, but also in a few other Arab countries today. In fact, this might qualify as a mini-meltdown for the State Department.

Back in 2007-2008 I was told by the Obama campaign and his faithful followers that the world would accept us more under the capable leadership of Mr. Obama. I was told that President Bush was a "cowboy" and bad but that America's image would improve significantly as a result of this much needed influx of liberal foreign policy. So here we are.

As I sit here reading the news about the situation in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia, I'm having a hard time putting my finger on all this "respect" I was promised. Please help me understand if this is what "respect" looks like.

Anti-American violence flared Friday across North Africa and the Middle East, with Muslim mobs reportedly scaling the walls of the U.S. Embassies in Tunisia and Sudan, breaking windows and setting fires

In Egypt, protesters in Ciaro's Tahrir Square could be seen carrying a 4-foot-tall poster of Usama bin Laden, and graffiti reportedly found on the U.S. Embassy there read: "Take care America. We have 1.5 billion bin Ladens."

In Sudan, gunfire could be heard as protesters broke through a barrier protecting the U.S. Embassy outside Khartoum, according to eye witness accounts.

In Tunisia, meanwhile, protesters jumped over a wall surrounding the U.S. Embassy there, breaking windows inside the embassy and setting trees on fire. An eye witness told Fox News that police officers were firing tear gas at protesters, while flames could be seen shooting out of the embassy compound. It's not known whether anyone is inside the building. Protesters also set fire to an American school in Tunis, Reuters reported.

Thousands of protesters in Cairo demonstrated blocks away from the U.S. Embassy on Friday, as the president went on state TV and appealed to Muslims to protect embassies, trying to patch up strained relations with the United States.

I thought Mr. Obama's killing of Bin Laden was supposed to put an end to all this? Is this what respect looks like to you?

Sorry, but these CNN photos aren't displaying much "respect" for the US or our flag. Am I missing something here? As we prepare to elect a president, does the state of foreign policy have any bearing on who we vote for? Are we better off in the Middle East and Asia today than four years ago?

To me the idea of rioting just because of this dumb movie doesn't hold water. There is a deeper problem here. It's called failed foreign policy. Why should we reelect an administration that is failing both domestically and in the foreign policy arena?

Am I missing something here?

Just as one can say that OWS protester do not speak for any particular party or for the USA, I don't think the protester in ME are indicative of the overal populations in those countries.

As I heard explained today by some press folks, these mobs, aside from the small group of radical muslims, are more or less soccer hooligans with not much of idea of what they are protesting against. There is really no organization in these groups at all. I don't know where you are seeing information that says the majority of thos living in these countries have hatred for the US. Do you have some source? Maybe that is what you are missing?
