THIS is why the NeoCons want Tort-Reform so badly...

Here's a classic example of why the Righties keep talking about "tort reform" in medicine so badly. They've got to protect those "job-creators" and their mega-million profits...And if a few people die in the process, oh well... They were probably part of the 47% that don't matter anyway....

Nah, we want tort reform to stop the suits that are merit less. In construction, many multi family HOA's are persuaded to sue the contractors for "construction defects" which may or may not exist. The insurance companies for the contractors settle, just to avoid the cost of litigation. If we had tort reform, such as "loser pays attorney's fees" people wouldn't sue unless there were actual damages.

So, as usual, the Righties would rather screw the ones who are deserving if there's a 1-in-10,000 chance of catching someone who isn't...

Got it. God, I love it...

Nope. The case you show, and anyone with merit will still go to court. Only ones with no merit, or shots in the dark won't take the chance because they don't want to have to pay the defense fees.

And since there were reports of lung problems with that product for years, and the companies that make it ignored those reports, I wish he'd gotten more than $7.2 million.. Maybe THEN they would fix their product instead of hiding the problem...

Does the word "recall" ring a bell...

It's an illness that can be traced back to the chemicals used to give popcorn a buttery flavoring without all the calories. The chemical -- an artificial flavoring called diacetyl, is no longer used in artificial flavoring and some experts see a possible link between diacetyl and Alzheimer's, according to ABC News.

The verdict was the latest in a line of cases in the past 15 years, starting with workers in popcorn plants where diacetyl was an ingredient, that has linked the chemical to health problems.

And this is the reason that I would like to see tort reform shoved up Neo-Con's .... noses..... How conveeeeeenient of you to leave that part out.

He ate artificial popcorn twice a day for 10 yrs. READ THE INGREDIENTS!! It has artificial crap in it. If you eat anything that often, it will hurt you. Diet pop has aspartame in it...a known issue (maybe). Do you think people who drink it every day should be able to sue in 10 yrs when they get some disease?

Come on...personal responsibility. I know...something you don't believe in.

And if the "artificial crap" was a known heath-risk, and had BEEN a known health-risk, and the public had NOT been warned that it was a known health-risk, and if there was no warning label on the package that it was a known health-risk; are you suggesting that every consumer do a search on every ingredient listed on the package to see if anything there is a known health-risk?---even if it is listed by a brand-name instead of its scientific compound name?

If there was no warning that "using this product daily could injure your health", then a consumer may assume that the product is safe to use. If it is not, then next time, I hope someone gets them for $10-million, or $15-million... Maybe getting them in their greedy pockets will get their attention.

And this is the reason that I would like to see tort reform shoved up Neo-Con's .... noses.....

Come on... You're just as bat-sh*t-crazy as you always are... and your usual apologist b.s. is as irrelevant as it usually is....

Thanks for playing.... :Snooze

Just look in the mirror. You don't debate any actual issues. You just insult. Insult. Insult. You have no logic, just a far far far left partisan mind.

Food has chemicals. Read the label. Nobody has to tell me if I ingest fake chemicals twice daily for 10 yrs it might be an issue. Same as cigarette smoke. Hey, I'm gonna suck on a burning stick for 10 yrs. They didn't tell me it would hurt me, so I guess I should be safe. Hey, these scissors don't say I could be stabbed if I fall on them, so I'm gonna run around and jump on the furniture while holding them. If I get hurt, who cares...they didn't warn me.

People are idiots, and getting injured because (and in this guys case, maybe not because, since he worked in a chemical plant!!) you are an idiot shouldn't make you rich beyond your wildest dreams.

So if I drink Coke 10x a day and the enamel on my teeth disintegrates, I have the right to sue? What about stuff like bacon... can I eat bacon with every meal and then sue when I get heart disease? Eating microwave popcorn twice a day for ten years is irresponsible and stupid... but that's ok, we shouldn't be responsible for our bad decisions anymore. Just watch the courts get packed with similar claims now since the precident has been set.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
