Santa Claus quits smoking in new Twas the Night Before Christmas
The way Vancouver publisher and anti-smoking advocate Pamela McColl sees it, Santa Claus should be thanking her.
In a recent edition of what some consider the world’s most famous poem — Twas the Night BeforeChristmas — she’s helped him quit his tobacco habit, leaving out the verse (and predictable illustration) that depict the jolly old elf sucking on his pipe.
Do we really have to change history? Why can't we just explain to our kids the dangers of smoking and explan this was written before they knew how bad smoking is for us. I do not believe in censorship.
I guess I can live with it because we are talking kids here but still.
