Replied by Rick on topic Ryan booed at AARP convention

What we do know is that a voucher system (without details) could fundamentally change medicare for our children and grand children, and we won't let that happen.

You got a mouse in your pocket?... your "we" doesn't speak for everyone even though you would like to think so. This is one area where my liberal dad is all for changing a broken program because he knows his grandkids will pay the price "we" are all too willing to pass off on them. He's also smart enough to know that the Ryan plan will not affect him since he's 70 although the ACA will. I'm 50 and the change would affect me but I would rather fix it now rather than kick the problem down the road until it collapses.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Huh? When did "we" become everyone, and where did I state that I am against necessary changes to medicare? Sorry if that is what I conveyed.... I am simply against the Romney/Ryan plan because it fundamentally changes the nature off medicare and could make medicare onto a program that is no longer affordable for those it is designed to serve. But we don't really know do we? No details have been forthcoming on how this would all work. I, for one, am NOT willing to trust Romney to do the right thing.

Actually I have been listening very close to news reports and very few mention the rule about current retirees and ones close to retirement age being exempt. AARP members hoping the GOP? It is a very liberal organization. A senior benefits organization that is anti-gun? WTH. Don't they have more important things to do than make antigun statements?

As a liberal member, I don't think they are all that liberal and I don't see them as anti-gun so much as pro better regulations. Just because we're old and decrepit doesn't mean we should have opinions on things that are not age-specific. lol

I'm 64 and absolutely do see that Ryan's plan would most likely affect me (in a negative way) too, unless I die in the next few years.

Been listening to Hugh Hewitt? Great letter from one SEAL to another SEAL hero.
