The opinion piece has elements of truth to it. Crime has rocketed to high levels in the North Dakota oil patch. I used to hunt with those boys and they work hard gets lot of time off and party hard. And counter the conventional wisdom the higher unemployment rate in Colorado hasn't increased crime. I work with a probation officer and he says the same thing. A booming economy usually increases crime. People have the money to get into trouble.
