That would be spreading mis-information or working their agenda. NBC Philidelphia reported about an airline employee that accidentally brought their concealed carry gun in their luggage through the security checkpoint. Upon discovery, while handling the gun, a Philidephia police officer caused a negligent discharge with the round penetrating a nearby employee lounge.
1. Guns don't "go off" by themselves. The incredibly poorly trained police officer depressed the trigger on the loaded gun and nearly caused damage to more than just property. When triggers are pressed to the rear of the trigger guard, the gun will fire if a round is in the chamber. That is how they are designed to work. Proper training is to treat all guns as if they are loaded, keep them pointed in the safest direction, KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL READY TO SHOOT. The trigger finger is kept in register (above and outside the triggerguard) until the sights are on the intended target.
2. All video of persons interviewed at the airport continue to emphasize the airline employee being at fault, when the Philidelphia police officer is the one that caused the negligent discharge.
3. Since the media doesn't have to answer to anyone on why they continue to misrepresent facts, is this simply their agenda to sway public opinion?
This is what we get when we allow ignorance to penetrate society. Anti-gunners will have a field day with this one, blaming the gun owner for what a stupid security officer did.
Unfortunately- the anti-gun crowd will not go out of their way to correct the lie - and tell the truth.
