They walk amongst us, these are people who will be voting for the next President of the United States.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

You now, I was once interviewed by my college radio station, caught completely off-guard by a random, unexpected call from them. I got totally flustered and couldn't even talk straight so I can totally see how some people can be easily led off track by the deliberately wrong information yet wanting to sound smart answering questions, but not even paying attention to what they are actually asked especially if they aren't expecting to be tricked.

That being said, yes, sadly there are a lot of clueless, ignorant people who have no idea of what's going on around them (really, who could've missed that bin Laden is dead???), and Jay Leno proved long ago that they exist. One of the great dangers to a democracy is an uneducated general population, which is why the electoral college was created.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

It occurs to me that there is nothing wrong with saying "I don't know" or asking for more information to clarify a question, or even replying to these questions with "nun'ya." Ryan is running with Obama and he's black? McCain and Palin are in the race in 2012? What scares me is that many Citizens are not paying any attention to the facts, they are basing their votes on popular opinion and propaganda instead of taking the time to learn about the candidates and the issues and then placing well informed votes.

It's time for voters to ask themselves why they are voting one way or the other, determine why that is the correct choice, and live with the consequences of their choices.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

SNL had a great skit this week making uncommitted voters out to be morons. Pretty funny. "What happens if the man I elected dies?"

Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
