While U.N. Beckons Clinton, Obama Takes In ‘The View’

President Obama on Monday flew up to New York from Washington, rode in his motorcade to ABC’s studios and sat down for an interview on “The View.” Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton was not far away, in the Waldorf-Astoria, meeting with President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan.

As dozens of world leaders gathered for the annual opening of the United Nations General Assembly — choking Manhattan’s streets with motorcades and barricades — the contrast between Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton could not have been starker.

Mr. Obama, his re-election campaign in full swing, continued to make his pitch to American voters, avoiding for the most part world leaders arriving at the United Nations. The president will address the General Assembly on Tuesday but, breaking with tradition, has no meetings set with his counterparts.

Barry is obviously too busy campaigning to be bothered with meeting other world leaders, very telling considering the riots in the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe.

Well he said he was there as eye candy. We wouldn't want eye candy handling anything so important as meeting with other world leaders now would we.

While RMoney issues bogus statements based on facts he knows nothing about, and based on an attack that hadn't happened yet (for 6 hours), RMoney wipes his behind with $1,000 bills and wonders what the "little people" of the 47% are doing.

Damn at least Rumney is doing something. Beats eye candy sitting on his a$$ thinking he is eye candy.

I'm thinking the republicans are just annoyed that Obama won't do what they tell him he should do. Nor does Obama, or the US, for that matter, dance to the tune of other nations. They are here in NY because of the UN, there is no reason Obama should meet with them.

You are so right. After all he is only eye candy. He has already shown the world how diplomacy works with him, more like lack thereof.

The US no longer issues $1000 bills. I am a Republican so I actually understand economics.

Just picking and a grinning. Actually had a good night took the wife out to dinner for our 25th anniversary and. Saw the new Clint Eastwood. He doesn't talk to a chair this time it is a tombstone instead.
