Mitt Romney: Obama 'Did Not' Raise Taxes In First 4 Years (VIDEO)
Mitt Romney veered off message Tuesday when he told a crowd of supporters in Ohio that President Barack Obama "did not" raise taxes in his first four years in office, undercutting his own line of attack on the president.
"His idea now, he's got one new, he's got a new idea," Romney said during a rally with running mate Paul Ryan. "I admit this, he has one thing he did not do in his first four years, he's said he's going to do in his next four years, which is to raise taxes."
Romney spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg addressed the Republican presidential candidate's comment in a Tuesday evening statement.
"President Obama has raised taxes on millions of middle-class Americans during his first term in office," Henneberg said.
Now, wait a minute... His campaign lie, (er, "line") for weeks has been...AND I QUOTE, "President Obama has raised taxes on millions of middle-class Americans during his first term in office." So, hold on... Now he's saying, "President Barack Obama "did not" raise taxes in his first four years in office," undercutting his own line of attack on the president.
Well, I'm SHOCKED, I tell you, SHOCKED!!!!
Does he plan on raising the tax-rate for the 2% making over $250,000, (and only on that portion above $250,000)... You betcha! If the GOTP wants to drive the bus off the cliff on 1/1/13, that's their choice. I guess they'd rather play it for political games than do anything to help the country... Good... I want the rest of the 47% to see what kind of knuckle-draggers they are....
