The first vehicle to meet the new Obama fuel efficiency standards is now here! Say goodbye to your pickup trucks- they have been regulated away, there's no way a vehicle like a full size pickup can meet the new standards. The Obama administration announced fuel economy standards Tuesday that would require car makers to almost double the average gas mileage for passenger vehicles to 54.5 miles per gallon by 2025.
"These fuel standards represent the single most important step we've ever taken to reduce our dependence on foreign oil," President Obama said.
But the Romney campaign was quick to condemn the rules as impractical and harmful. "Gov. Romney opposes the extreme standards that President Obama has imposed, which will limit the choices available to American families," campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul said.
That slick Willy- he's a mathmatical genius! Now, the agreement the administration made with the management, labor and environmental groups to double car mileage, that was a good deal too. It will cut your gas prices in half, your gas bill. No matter what the price is, if you double the mileage of your car, your bill will be half what it would have been. - Slick Willy- 2012 DNC

Are you sure you have your facts correct? Bucause the way I see it- exactly the opposite of what you say is the truth.archer wrote: Why are conservatives all about what Americans CAN'T do, and liberals are all about what Americans CAN do. I believe in American ingenuity and ability to create. If conservatives had the power to stop the Wright brothers they would have, after all no vehicle could ever fly.
The Wright Brothers were U.S. inventors who achieved the first powered, sustained, and controlled airplane flight. The brothers first worked in printing-machinery design and later in bicycle manufacturing, which financed their early experiments in airplane design. To test flight control, essential to successful powered flight, they built and flew three biplane gliders (190002). Propeller and engine innovations led to their first powered airplane, which Orville flew successfully for 12 seconds and Wilbur later flew for 59 seconds at Kill Devil Hills, N.C. (near the village of Kitty Hawk), on Dec. 17, 1903.
Their flyer of 1905 could turn, bank, circle, and remain airborne for over 35 minutes. They established an aircraft company and produced planes for the U.S. Army. After Wilbur's death from typhoid, Orville sold his interest in the company, which later merged with the company of Glenn H. Curtiss.
