"My heart aches" for struggling Americans

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

I suspect that campaign finance reform would be found unconstitutional. We're kind of in a damned if you do ---- damned if you don't situation.

Government spending is crack cocaine - and addicts will take extreme measures to support their habit.

There's just as many big business addicts as there are street-corner bums.

It's unfortunately a problem that can't be solved with the current constitutional, economic, and power structures.

Now that I ranted, I'm going back to this month's edition of Back woods Home

If you do limit campaign donations, does it start to go under the table?

"Please vote yes on this bill and I do have the number of your bank account in Brazil."

Or the Chicago way where a local official died and when they went to his house and found shoeboxes full of cash.

Campaign finance reform is not enforceable, and likely unconstitutional.

Greed and lust for power are both perfectly normal and acceptable.

I think the champions of finance reform are well intentioned, but naive.

More reasons why campaign finance reform is a dead issue? The media loves the cash infusion. I haven't seen this year's numbers but 2 billion dollars is significant media spending and made Clear Channel a lot of money.

I would ask why anyone who thinks they are smart is an employee?

Some have been an employer, and eventually got tired of the amount of time, money, and energy they had to devote to dealing with BS rules and regulations, and decided that it wasn't worth the hassle.

:yeahthat:

If you have ever had employees, and dealt with all the hassle, in addition to risking all you own, you would understand.

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!
