The values themselves have no political affiliation. Where the value becomes associated with politics is the manner in which one seeks to put their values into practice. The political right believes that in a free society the decision to help or not rests with the individual. The political left believes that it is proper to use the force of law to take a "fair share" from everyone to help their neighbor.

I don't believe politics is seperate from religion- at least not when it comes to the left.

In fact their idology is their religion, for most of the lefties. They believe that a socialist government replaces religion. For those who claim to be religious on the left- there's a dichotomy. First if they believe in a faith- they must ignore the fact that many of their team members are anti-religion, and second, they must face the moral issues of supporting a "government can solve all problems" ideal with their own beliefs.

Either way- it must be hell for anyone who is capable of thought.
