They walk among us. :VeryScared:

"Most people do not recognize what is probably the single most important fact of modern life. One reason is that leftism is overwhelmingly secular (more than merely secular: it is inherently opposed to all traditional religions), and therefore people do not regard it as a religion. Another is that leftism so convincingly portrays itself as solely the product of reason, intellect, and science that it has not been seen as the dogma-based ideology that it is. Therefore the vast majority of the people who affirm leftist beliefs think of their views as the only way to properly think about life.

That, in turn, explains why anyone who opposes leftism is labeled anti-intellectual, anti-progress, anti-science, anti-minority, and anti-reason (among many other pejorative epithets): Leftists truly believe that there is no other way to think."..............

The Left here does appear to be dominated by athiests, but in my life the most religious people I know tend to be Democrats, or even further left on the spectrum. These include priests, social workers, etc.

I guess it takes all kinds to make up a party.

Christian values such as helping your neighbor, forgiveness, not being judgmental, loving even your enemies... do these sound like right or left?

Right, why do you ask?
"Hand up, NOT a hand out."
"Judgmental..." well, I ONLY hear the left talking about race, color, creed, sex...
On and on & on...

IMO, either the left or the Right have a moral right to any religon.
It's a Personal choice to beleive what you will, we'll all find out the Truth when we die.
I would rather be on a safe side than, the wrong side, Just in case.

If it's: Islam, Secular/Nonreligious/Agnostic/Atheist, Hinduism, Chinese traditional religion, Buddhism, primal-indigenous, African Traditional & Diasporic, Sikhism, Juche, Spiritism, Judaism, Baha'i, Jainism, Shinto, Cao Dai, Zoroastrianism, Tenrikyo, Neo-Paganism,
Unitarian-Universalism, Rastafarianism, Scientology,... whomever besides God, The Creator, I guess I'm screwed.

My point was pretty close to that actually. Politics is a separate issue and neither left or right can claim it as their own.

Prager wouldn't know a leftist if he was bitten on the ass by one. Just another article written to directly appeal to the same group that thinks not only that liberals can't really be American but that conservatives who aren't as far right-wing as they are can't really be conservative. Real people seldom fit into tidy little boxes.

Don't you think you just put his fans into a tidy little box?

Those who think people fit into tidy little boxes sure shouldn't be uncomfortable in one. :Whistle

I have listened to Dennis from time to time and he clearly does understand the modern evolution of leftist thinking. Look at the most leftist regimes in the world, Lenin and Stalin's Soviet Union was very secular, as was Mao's. Part of this was because of how complicit established religion was with oppressive regimes like the Tsars.
Secular Jews were the backbone of Soviet doctrine in the early years. Tired of anti-Jewish pogroms, they allied with the secular vision of Marx.
