So LJ...you obviously disagree with the premise...do you disagree that some percentage of people want the welfare state? Is that percentage 0, or 30%, or do you think the actual statement is incorrect in it's entirety?
I know people who enjoy the welfare state. I don't know what the percentage is of people though...Countries like Greece have created quite the hammock...and are reaping the results.
Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!
Here is my 2 cents. IMO it is not helpful that both parties are playing this numbers game of dividing up people into classes and groups, 99%, 1%, 47%, 30%, whatever. This country never used to act this way, lets concentrate on economic growth, upward mobility, opportunity, and prosperity for all! We need to compete in the world global economy, not fight among ourselves. Enough of these numbers games. SOBs!
