BLS can not be manipulated.... much like the CBO, it is an independent non-partisan entity. The saddest thing? You would think you ideological misfits would be happy FOR OUR COUNTRY not pissed because your PARTY or your CANDIDATE does not benefit from GOOD FVCKING NEWS!
So , if your so inclined, have a read and for once in your life (that means you righties) read something besides a fox news, worldnut daily or your favorite misinformed blog.
I am happy for those people who finally found work but it really is just too little and too late. After spending trillions of dollars on jobs, infrastructure, pork projects, increasing debt levels to record highs, spending $3 for every $2 you take in, to still have unemployment above 7.5% shows a distinct lake of ability and leadership on Obama's part.
And for those cheering today? It is like the wide receiver who spikes the ball after a touchdown when his team is still behind 48-7.
Or the guy cheering a $5 payout from the poker machine when he is down $500.

And if it can be demonstrated that the drop in unemployment actually reflects increased employment this time around instead of a drop in the number of those still looking for work as it has been the last couple of times the number has dropped we will be happy for the country. However, when we see that a 0.3% drop in the unemployment rate is not accompanied by a similar increase in the labor participation rate, then one has to start wondering how much of the drop is attributable to people no longer looking for work and how much of the drop is tied to more people who were looking for work finding it.
According to the report that you provided a link to the number of long term unemployed was essentially unchanged, as were the unemployment rates for teenagers, Blacks and Hispanics. Labor participation rate was essentially unchanged. The number of people employed part time because their hours were cut back or they are unable to find full time employment is up by 600K this month compared to last. Those marginally attached to the labor force is unchanged compared to a year ago.
When one looks at the entire picture, there really isn't a lot to be happy about dude. All in all not much has changed when one looks at the entire employment picture instead of a single number. If not much has changed, which is what the report you want us to look at is telling us, please tell me what, precisely, it is that I am supposed to be happy about now that I wasn't happy about before.
And unemployment is down to 7.8%, and 5.2 million jobs created since Obama took over. And the lie about "He's lost more jobs than he's created" has been blown into the toilet along with so many others...(Like: "It was bad when he got it, and he's made it worse..." <Bzzzt> Sorry, not true...But thanks for playing.)

Think Bill or Hilary would have let first year, wet behind the ears, TEA Party Congress people shut down their agenda completely? Face it, Obama is a wimp. The Clintons would have hammered out something to get things done. Obama just whines about Congress instead of working with them.

The labor participation rate is noticeably lower now than it was when he took office SFB. As the unemployment number has come down from its high, the labor participation rate has continued to fall as well. I'm happy that we finally have a higher gross number of people working now than we did in January of 2009, but as we both know from looking at gross number with respect to the number of dollars in profit earned by oil companies and the gross number with respect to the number of dollars taxes have been increased by with the passage of the PPACA, gross numbers are essentially meaningless for anything other than political talking points.
It is amazing to see how much of an apologist you are for Barack. I think his whole team from Chicago is so used to living in a one-party dictatorship that they don't know how to function in a two party system. The Clintons who came from a Red state and Mitt Romney, who came from a Blue state, do know how to work with an opposing legislature.

Congress is still going to have a large majority of Republicans in the House and likely will have, if not a majority, more seats in the Senate than they have at the moment as well. Owebama isn't going to get a Congress with a large majority of Democrats in Congress even if he somehow manages to hold onto his job and he has already demonstrated that he is utterly incapable of getting anything done unless he has that large majority in both houses of Congress that he isn't going to get in this election.

Exactly. Some on the Left think an Obama win will create a socialist paradise, but a 47% approval rate doesn't bring coat tails, if Barack wins, it will be 2010-2012 all over again.
If Mitt wins, it means the Republican house & the Democrat Senate will have to actually hammer out some bills to move us forward. Checks and balances restored to the system over the current Obamastagnation.
