Chinese Firm Targeted By Republicans Has Bain Capital Ties

Huawei, Controversial Chinese Tech Firm That Once Partnered With Bain Capital, Slammed By GOP

WASHINGTON -- The House intelligence committee on Monday will release a damning investigation into the Chinese telecom firm Huawei Technologies, according to a "60 Minutes" investigation that aired Sunday night.

A principal aim of the two-track media and political onslaught is to warn U.S. companies not to do business with Huawei, arguing that its close relationship with the Chinese government creates unacceptable security risks.

Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.), the Republican chairman of the panel, delivered that warning bluntly. "If I were an American company today -- and I'll tell you this as the chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence -- and you are looking at Huawei, I would find another vendor if you care about your intellectual property, if you care about your consumers' privacy, and you care about the national security of the United States of America," Rogers told "60 Minutes."

One U.S. company that could've benefited from Rogers' warning is Bain Capital, the private equity giant founded by Mitt Romney, which still pays the GOP presidential nominee millions each year. Romney has made his promise to "get tough" on China a central element of his economic message, though the company he started has made it easier for China to get tough on its own citizens.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Corruption: Exposing Barack Obama’s Illegal Foreign Campaign Money Loophole [/b]

A new report obtained by Townhall from the non-partisan Government Accountability Institute [GAI] shows the Obama campaign has potentially violated federal election law by failing to prevent the use of fraudulent or foreign credit card transactions on the official Obama for America [OFA] donation webpage.

For the past eight months, GAI has been investigating the potential influence of foreign online campaign donations in House, Senate and presidential elections. The report was conducted using spidering software and found thousands of foreign sites linking to campaign donation pages. The investigation was conducted with the guidance of a former U.S. attorney. GAI is led by Peter Schweizer, who recently exposed congressional insider trading in his book Throw Them All Out.

“As FBI surveillance tapes have previously shown, foreign governments understand and are eager to exploit the weaknesses of American campaigns,” the report says. “This, combined with the Internet’s ability to disintermediate campaign contributions on a mass scale, as well as outmoded and lax Federal Election Commission rules, make U.S. elections vulnerable to foreign influence.”

According to industry leading web analytics site Markosweb, an anonymously registered redirect site (Obama.com) features 68 % foreign traffic. Starting in December 2011, the site was linked to a specific donation page on the official BarackObama.com campaign website for ten months. The page loaded a tracking number, 634930, into a space on the website labeled "who encouraged you to make this donation." That tracking number is embedded in the source code for Obama.com and is associated with the Obama Victory Fund. In early September 2012, the page began redirecting to the standard Obama Victory Fund donation page. Search engine optimization (SEO) efforts, using common spamming techniques, may have been undertaken by unknown third-parties, generating foreign traffic to Obama.com.[/i]

The article in the OP claims Bain Capital had ties with this Chinese firm in 2007 and 2008. The fact is that Romney had no management input with Bain after 1999. So what's the point of this topic?

http://www.factcheck.org/2012/07/romneys-bain-years-new-evidence-same-conclusion/

This is the same crap the liberals tried with Dick Cheney and Halliburton. He severed all financial ties with them when he ran for office, but they still claimed he profited from them in office and they portrayed Halliburton as being the most evil company in the country, just at they portray Bain Capital now.

http://www.factcheck.org/kerry_ad_falsely_accuses_cheney_on_halliburton.html

If Halliburton was so corrupt and evil, why don't we hear anything about them anymore? Now it appears Bain Capital has taken their place. Politics anyone?

Really, LJ? That is all you have, some obscure Chinese firm? I think the independents will need more than that to vote for Barack after four years of being a do nothing President.

How about something more Americans are concerned about, 7.8% unemployment, a U rate of 15 of underemployment and unemployment, and American families losing 10% of their income in the four years that Obama has been at the helm.

"But the HuffPo thinks this article will be a game changer!"
