:pop I love it. Remember Tebowing? Eastwooding is putting out an empty chair to represent the wasted four years of the Obama administration.

:faint: Talk about a failed Presidency. A man who decided he would rather use a campaign tactic than actually negotiate with Congress. Think Reagan would just shut down when he was given a Democratic Congress? Nope, he and Tip O'Neill would have drinks at the White House and work things out. Think "W" just shut down and went on vacation after Pelosi became the Speaker, no, he continued to work with Congress.

What did Obama do after America decided to take away his majority in Congress, he started a new whine.

The president is certainly a problem here in terms of his inability/unwillingness to work with Congress, but I would submit that Congress is the 800 lb. gorilla. The members are so polarized that they can't get anything done, president or no. Everyone complains about Congress but they'll dutifully march to the polls and re-elect the same incumbent who's sitting there with his/her heels dug in refusing to work across the aisle to get anything done.

We don't have just one empty chair we have 536 of them.

It's a two way street, congress also refused to work with Obama. The very fact that the Republicans stated purpose at the start of Obama's presidency was to make him a one term president indicates that they had no intention of working with Obama even if it was in the country's best interest to do so.

“When white man find land, Indians running it, no taxes, no debt, plenty buffalo, plenty beaver, clean water. Women did all the work, Medicine man free. Indian man spend all day hunting and fishing; all night having sex. Only whit man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that.” Indian Chief Two Eagles

Maybe. It is also a negotiating tactic. You tell the other side you just aren't interested they are likely to have less power when you debate a new bill. The Republicans and Dems did pass certain bills like keeping the goverment operating and restricting our personal freedoms, so the TEA party and Tan Man Boehner weren't willing to shut the goverment down like Newt was.
