I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

Very powerful ad. I think - for anyone who will listen to it, of course the left is famous for ignoring the message - and it's people like this guy who knows most of all.

My european grandparents experienced the same things that this guy did- extreme poverty and oppression- they warned all us kids about the same dangerous political ideas because they lived it as young people themselves.

"It makes poor people poorer"- that says it all. But I think there's another lesson if anyone will listen- when you put yourself in a position of being dependant on government, especially one like ours who is the most bankrupt and in debt entity on earth- it's not going to end well. Just a matter of time before the welfare state can no longer do even the minimum.

And the main point here is that, while everyone working for their self interest may seem cold-hearted at first, when everyone is involved - it lifts the standard of living of everyone. It provides the best opportunity for everyone. It works better than any socialist experiment that has ever been tried. It creates wealth and the highest standard of living for the vast majority- for anyone who is willing to work for it.

Anyone who places themselves in a position of depending on this government for their needs is going to be so sorry they ever did. This is THE recipe for sorrow, poverty and hardship.
