I was just out of college, working about a year and remember not thinking much about it. I bought a new pickup that week in fact, my 1st and only new vehicle. It was a 1988 Chevy S-10 truck.

I was on Coronado Island preparing for a deployment . I had always has a soft spot for the inventor of the transistor so I called in a market order for who ever owned Bell Labs. Taught me a lesson about market orders. My order hit several dollars above the market price which was falling like a lead balloon. I suspect I could have contested it but never did. I sold it a couple of years latter at at a loss.
