Ohio Voter Fraud Billboards To Be Taken Down, Sponsor Remains Anonymous

CLEVELAND, Oct 21 (Reuters) - More than 140 billboards in Ohio and Wisconsin warning of the criminal consequences of voter fraud will be taken down starting on Monday after the sponsor chose to remove them rather than reveal its identity, the billboard owner said.

The billboards, which show a large judge's gavel and read "Voter Fraud is a felony - up to 3 ½ years and a $10,000 fine," went up primarily in low-income minority neighborhoods in early October, just weeks before the Nov. 6 elections, and were immediately criticized by voter rights groups as an attempt to intimidate minority voters.

The sponsor was not identified on the billboards owned by Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings Inc. The company said this was a violation of its policy against anonymous political ads.

After discussions, the sponsor, whom Clear Channel Outdoor has called a "private family foundation" [can you spell "K-O-C-H"?] but declined to name, "thought the best solution was to take the boards down, so we are in the process of removing them," the company said in a statement.

In response to the outcry, Clear Channel Outdoor donated 10 billboards around the Cleveland area that read "Voting Is a Right. Not a Crime!"

What exactly was cheating about this? I think they should have left the billboards up and spread them out to every neighborhood. Did you see the story about Romney ties to the company that operates the voting machines in Ohio and Colorado? That is real voter fraud...

The story about Diebold has been around since the last presidential election in 2008... The machines CAN be hacked, and some undercover hackers proved it...It was featured on a segment of "60 Minutes" where they showed how they did it, step-by-step.

They can't win if they don't cheat.

They can't win if they don't cheat.

 If we can cheat with Diebold, how was Obama able to win? Maybe the SEIU employees who work on the machines?

And the bilboards should stay up. Just telling the truth.

Thanks... I hadn't heard about Hart Intercivic... I knew about the Diebold hack.... This is new...

Sort of takes "Can't win if they don't cheat" to a whole new level, don't it?

If true, it constitutes treason. This needs to be out there and investigated now.

Over the years LJ has repeated non-stop that voter fraud doesn't exist (at least not enough to worry about), but of course she then complains about voter fraud if she finds a tidbit she can tie to the GOP.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
