Just sharing a detailed article comparing costs. It was a pretty decent analysis of where the money goes. Not too many ideas for fixing it though. IMO Price controls rarely work over the long term. I would like to see more price transparency, it is near impossible to get price info in advance.
"How much is good health care worth to you? $8,233 per year? That's how much the U.S. spends per person.
Worth it?
That figure is more than two-and-a-half times more than most developed nations in the world, including relatively rich European countries like France, Sweden and the United Kingdom. On a more global scale, it means U.S. health care costs now eat up 17.6 percent of GDP."

I'm guessing you didn't read the whole article archer, since you responded so quickly with the standard answer. There is more in there than your simple, one line, talking point solution. IMO Or you are a very quick reader, it was a long article with lots of numbers.

This may be a new subject to you, but not to me. I have done a lot off research on this, especially back when the ACA was under debate. I will try to remember that we are not allowed to post on a subject unless we have read the required posted article.
It is not a new subject to me either, but I do keep an open mind and continue to read and learn. Thanks for your input. When you have time, you may want to read the article.

I read it.....skimmed it before I posted, read the entire thing after. I stand by my original post. The US is, to me, the only country that treats health care, not as a necessity, but a luxury. It's criminal that those with the money get the best care and the best medical outcomes. Until we realize that it is to our advantage as a country to have a healthy population, nothing will change and our costs will stay high.
