Romney kicked off a round of discussion about domestic policy, calling debt a threat to national security.
He claimed, "The president said by now we'd be a 5.4 percent unemployment." We've rated a similar claim in a TV ad from American Crossroads, that "this is what President Obama said the jobless rate would be if we passed the stimulus: 5.6 percent." But we find that's a stretch. In the evidence the group provided, Obama doesn’t mention that statistic. Rather, he introduced "projections" that included a chart showing the jobless rate falling to about 5.6 percent under a recovery plan. The report highlighted the estimates’ "significant margins of error" and high uncertainty due to a recession that was "unusual both in its fundamental causes and its severity." The economy was, in fact, much worse than economists knew. The chart is now infamous, but it was never pitched as a promise. We rated the ad's statement Mostly False.
The president countered that Romney's budget math doesn't work, noting Romney "wants to spend another $2 trillion on military spending that our military is not asking for." In the first presidential debate, Obama made a nearly identical claim. We looked at Romney's budget proposal and found the number was accurate. We didn't find reports that top brass was asking for the money. We rated Obama's statement True.
Enjoyed this debate more because there was more actual discussion than put downs. Rumney was more presidential and Obuma could have helped himself more by not being so defensive which makes him look weak.
IN NOVEMBER 2014, WE HAVE A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TO CLEAN OUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE AND ONE-THIRD OF THE SENATE! DONT BLOW IT!

You're confusing defensive with knowledgeable. Obama was much more aware of how this country stacks up in the global community, Romney was talking like he just pass his first semester in Foreign Policy 101.

Nope it was the way he said. Someone more confident wouldn't be displaying the body language Obuma did.

Next you'll be telling me that Obama's tea leaves had a weird convergence. Obama won this debate.
I know the difference and he is always defensive. His body language says it all.
I personally felt that Obama did speak with more authority on foreign affairs though I still do not agree with his foreign policy.
The economy is where Romney speaks with the most confidence and it shows.....and it is what most Americans really care about right now.
I thought Obama was condescending and did not help himself when he spoke about the Navy.
The Marines Sir.....still use those bayonets. Perhaps he should know a little more about the very branch he directly commands. Maybe take a look at their weapons sometime at the evening parade at Marine Barracks 8th and I
