I voted FOR it....
Agreed, except that I haven't voted yet. Call me old fashioned but, I like going to the polling place on election day. Oh and I have used it and yes I did inhale.
It is a good thing we are voting on this and all kinds of other things, it will help everyone decide right from wrong based on the will of the majority, the real deciders in each individual's life. not
A few months back I would have said yes, but given some thought I may not ethically be able to vote on this at all.
I feel my right to consume what ever I want, "marry" who ever I want and say what ever I want should not be subject to the vote of others. These "issues" are not good fuses for redefinition of the difference between state and federal control. These are liberties and should be reserved at the highest and at every level of govt for YOU.
To vote on such an issue at all is a resignation that they are not your rights, they are things that you do (or do not) by permission (or without) and though these may appear similar they are very different, to bring up a recent theme, they have vastly different shelf lives when compared to well worded and codified liberties. You accept central planning of more aspects of markets as well, more government picking of winners and losers, more crony "capitalism".
I am not giving up, but I feel that you should find and focus on better representatives, those that will work to get your liberties back to you. Restrictions, which we throw around like they are actually just words, should be much more heavily considered and often not subject to the will of the majority, even of one state. The referendum is simply a tool and only works when you win, otherwise it is an offense.
You will not get your state's vs. fed battle on this one, you will get even more defined control of your actions and options at all levels. Once that is better controlled, many other issues will have both fewer options and perspectives. This is a downward spiral.
I would contend if you wanted a battle. Leave drugs as illegal as possible, have local and all levels of police continue to lock up folks and take their most valuable stuff. Come up with more stuff that is not that big of a deal, but you criminalize and pretty quick, you will have more battles and stand offs than you know what do do with at all levels of govt. We are/were headed for meltdown on the criminalization of the citizens, drugs only jump started that process.
I don't think I have the right to judge what other people can do with pot and to vote yes on this restricts the amounts people can have, grow, buy and sell. So voting to give folks back a small % of that personal right does not feel right to me. This is how people dig their own graves. Besides, my vote won't count that much anyway.
We've voted, YES! legalize it, tax the sh*t out of it, and get out of my pocket. Stop this feckless, "War on POT" BS, (Note I didn't say War on Drugs, for a reason), take those resources, and cash and close the southern border, for now, (IMO, that could stop a lot of illegal items coming into this country). Make a HUGE dent in the underground economy, (which is thriving, BTW) That's what's hurting U.S.
Well said ONT, I feel the same way. I have neuropathy in my feet and fingers from a nasty chemo drug that also makes my insomnia even worse. My choice is to either load up on ambien every night or take a couple hits off my vaporizer which makes me feel better in the morniing, costs less, and is most likely better for me. The war on drugs was lost a long time ago and few of our 'leaders' are willing to admit it. I had a MMJ card when I first got cancer but refuse to jump through the hoops and pay the fees to renew it
So I could care less if it's ever legal or not... and if I had to grow my own, I will.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
I saw this as the sig line of another user on a different forum. I thought it applies very well here.
"I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I alone am morally responsible for everything I do."
--Robert Heinlein
I don't care if pot is legal or not. I didn't see enough detail about keeping it to one's self, or driving under the influence for me to vote yes on 64. Also, I don't really think this should be an ammendment to the constitution, I think our reps should have the guts to just pass a law.

rofllol Typical stoner, can't get around to actually voting.
(Just kidding!)

Damn, when I was San Diego, we got it for 5-fingers x 5-fingers for $10.00, (that was a lid in those days), a Ti-Stick coming back from the 'nam (lived next to Miramar Air Station) was $5.00-$10.00 by how thick it was wrapped. Temple-balls where the most, going for $20.00-$30.00 depending on size.
I understand that it's sold by the oz. now, and it costs an arm & and joint.

I mentioned buying a "lid" to a younger person the other day, they had no clue what I was talking about. We were talking about this ballot issue at the time.
