One of the reasons people are asking you to not pass it is that federal law would conflict with state law, but Vince Carrol has an interesting piece on Sunday where Colorado and other states were legalizing alcohol before the Feds did it.
Any guesses on if it will pass? Originally the polls looked very good, but now I am starting to think it won't pass.

On this, I agree... I don't use it...never have used it...don't intend to use it.... But I think the amount of money and resources we use to enforce something so stupid, and bust people with small amounts for personal use is absurd. The billions (trillions?) wasted could be put to better use.

I voted FOR it....
Agreed, except that I haven't voted yet. Call me old fashioned but, I like going to the polling place on election day. Oh and I have used it and yes I did inhale.
How much do you supposed the legal fees are gonna run the state if it passes? Does the state have to defend it in teh federal courts, or would that be up to individual defendants perhaps with help from the ACLU?

I see it as a little more simple than that. Our law enforcement would just stop arresting for marijuana possesion. Isn't there at least one community in Colorado who no longer arrests for MJ? I think it is in Summit county.
Currently Colorado and other states have medical MJ which is illegal to the Feds and so far they aren't going after the state, just some of the dispensaries.
