Couldn't get out of Frankfurt to IAD today so we are staying in a cozy little berg just north...Were going down for beer and a very late dinner soon, but I wanted to say that everybody here wants Obama to win..Its the most unionized country in the world and enjoys one of the highest standards of living, and......Free healthcare for all.

Visiting your homeland huh?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%BCnchausen_syndrome

Münchausen syndrome is a psychiatric factitious disorder wherein those affected feign disease, illness, or psychological trauma to draw attention or sympathy to themselves.

The syndrome name derives from Baron Münchhausen (Karl Friedrich Hieronymus Freiherr von Münchhausen, 1720–1797), a German nobleman, who purportedly told many fantastic and impossible stories about himself, which Rudolf Raspe later published as The Surprising Adventures of Baron Münchhausen. (VLs great great Grandfather???)

You have no clue what you are talking about again. You made a comment that everybody in Germany wants obama to win. WRONG, funny thing is all my relatives over there and their friends cannot stand him. Some are not to happy with Romney either. This is a weedkly discussion I have with them. The standards of living are high if you can afford it. It is not given out. As for the healthcare, its not free. If it is so free, then explain why my uncle paid so much for the care he had to go through after his heart attack, the money my aunt spent after her stroke. Then my other aunt had to pay after her husband had a stroke. Its not free. Luckily thier insurance did pay a good portion of it.

Germans Confused Over U.S. Healthcare Debate
Their public healthcare system reached a record surplus of $5.28 billion last year and is one of the oldest systems in Europe
By: Miriam Widman
March 14, 2012 -- BERLIN -- As the Republican presidential candidates try to outdo each other over criticizing the Obama administration’s healthcare plan, several German healthcare officials who watch the debate in the United States are in disbelief as to why the American public doesn’t want a national plan.

Their reactions come as the German public healthcare system reached a record € 4 billion ($ 5.28 billion) surplus for 2011.

Can't imagine the Germans - who are bailing out every other south European socialist economy - would be keen to support yet another liability.

OK, so this is the same description pretty much that I posted. The people pay into it along with employers. My relatives were able to get the private insurance, but it is not free, they pay into it. Depending on thier income depends on how much they are required to pay. If over a set amount the can elect to either go on the National Plan or get private insurance.
