Christie was right, you self sufficient phonies make me sick. When things get tough , we stick together.
I grew up in that area and the reaction from the Feds was what I hope most of us want.
One Country. You want to live on your own, fine. I live in a society and there is a cost.
I would love if the nitwits could opt out. no Fed help, no stem cell benefits and pay for all the fetuses you care so much about(until they are born) .
A 2 tier tax system may be the answer. Pay for what you want.

Yeah, I'm SO GLAD that RMoney is on-the-record saying "funding FEMA is immoral." Funny thing, the press is asking him every day now about his remarks about FEMA druing this mega-storm... He ducks the questions and won't answer them... Whassamatter, Mittsy-poo? Caught on your own petard, and no room to flip-flop?

Does anyone find it ironic that President Obama called for his agencies to cut through bureaucracy and red tape. He told them to find ways to make things happen rather than reasons they cannot happen. He called for citizens to help each other rather than depend on government services.

"'I want you to cut through bureaucracy, there’s no excuse for inaction at this point, I want every agency to lean forward,' President Obama said during remarks at the American Red Cross Tuesday afternoon.

Lean forward? Now where have I heard that before? Hmmm

And as for Fema, I always thought it was only suppose to be used after all city and state resourses were exhausted and then it provided low interest and guaranteed loans for rebuilding. Seems like the trend is to centralize every problem in this country instead of having state governments take care of themselves. I realize some states have been better managed, but isn't that the main problem? Eventually we won't even need governors and mayors since the few in Washington can handle everything (or think they can).

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

You're thinking of the FEMA Dir. Michael Brown response to Katrina. He's a talk radio host now.
