Where did Mayor Bloomberg tell Obama to stay away? I would not want you to be labeled an "attention whore" for a misleading subject line.

“I talked to the president today and I talked to his chief of staff [Jack Lew] today, particularly about a trip here. What I pointed out to him is that we would love to have him, but we‘ve got lots of things to do,” Bloomberg said. “And I’m not trying to diss him, but I know he had planned a trip to New Jersey, and I said, ‘That’s fine. It represents the whole region; people understand the storm.’”

“He has a lot of things to do. And I was flattered that he offered to come, but I think that the thing for him to do is go to New Jersey and represent the country,” the Mayor added as he also explained the plans for the continued closing of public transit.

In this case, I'd say that's a pretty accurate summary. Maybe "Go somewhere else" instead of "Stay Away", but the meaning is still very clear.

I endorse Mayor Bloomberg's opinion on this matter.

When someone makes big deal out of something what's so bad about pointing out the other side has done it, too? It's called perspective.

But it never addresses the original point, does it? It's a simple deflection and dismissal.
