The Economist endorses President Obama

London-based magazine, The Economist, endorsed President Barack Obama on Thursday. It is the second time the world’s leading economics-focused magazine has endorsed Obama, this time by a narrow margin over former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.

The Economist’s choice turned to two questions: how good of a president has Obama been, especially on the main issues of the economy and foreign policy? And can America really trust Mitt Romney to do a better job?

President's Job Council Advisor -- Endorses Romney?

To that end, the Romney campaign trotted out a roster of well-known business leaders Thursday who are backing the Republican presidential nominee. Supporters include Charles Schwab, Cisco Chief Executive John Chambers and Bernie Marcus, the co-founder of Home Depot. The newest name on the list belongs to Intel CEO Paul Otellini, a member of President Barack Obama’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.

But if you read the whole piece it is a pretty tepid endorsement. More based on the devil you know and not having a handle on how Mitt would govern.
