NY Marathon Prep PR Nightmare?

Hotels are evicting New Yorkers who still don't have power in their homes so that out of towners can come in and run & report on the marathon.

Maybe it might have been better to cancel it this year? Or turn it into a triathalon and you can swim the subway. :VeryScared:

Saw this morning that they have brought in these huge generators to heat runners and media in tents and the folks in Staten Island are starving and freezing. What the heck is wrong with those folks in charge.

As hundreds of thousands of Big Apple residents suffer in homes left without power by Hurricane Sandy, two massive generators are being run 24/7 in Central Park — to juice a media tent for Sunday’s New York City Marathon.

And a third “backup” unit sits idle, in case one of the generators fails.

EDITORIAL: Marathon is power mad!

The three diesel-powered generators crank out 800 kilowatts — enough to power 400 homes in ravaged areas like Staten Island, the Rockaways and downtown Manhattan.

At least they should give each runner a 9mm and some hand cuffs - they could chase down the looters...

Normal citizens are suffering while the out of town elite get their party tents.

Bloomberg could order those generators be used for disaster relief but he won't do that. What a dick.

Bloomberg's party is more important than the little guy. Let them eat cake, or dumpster dive while I dine on roast pheasant with my friends.

Hey, at least Springsteen and Bon Jovi are going to sing them some songs... that should help those who need rescued, food, watter, gas (and I heard some are callling them "heroes"). I would think some of these celeb milionaires could pony up for some generators or shelters if they really wanted to help.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

The telecast will benefit the American Red Cross and will be shown on NBC and its cable stations including Bravo, CNBC, USA, MSNBC and E! Style Network and G4, and online at NBC.com, Today.com and NBCNews.com. Money collected will go to the American Red Cross, which is providing food, shelter and other support to those affected by the hurricane and other disasters.

I'd bet Springsteen ponies up plenty and prolly won't make a big deal of it. And Trump?
