Funny business in Philly

A Pennsylvania judge issued an order Tuesday to reinstate Republican election officials across Philadelphia who allegedly were ejected or refused entry by on-site Democratic voting chief judges.

It was one of several controversies surfacing in Pennsylvania's largest city on Election Day.
One polling site in Philadelphia apparently had a mural of President Obama emblazoned on the wall directly behind the voting machines. The mural, at a local school being used as a polling site, contained the words "change!" and "hope," along with a quote from the president.

"It is an absolute disgrace," said Shannon Royer, deputy secretary for external affairs and elections in Pennsylvania. "Election materials and electioneering inside the polling place are prohibited by state law. This can be interpreted as trying to influence voters inside the polling place. I am told discussions are going on now about covering the mural."
Pennsylvania election law states "no person within a polling place may electioneer or solicit votes for any political party, political body, or candidate, nor may any unauthorized written or printed materials be posted within the polling place."

I guess the Democrats realized they can't rig the votes with poll watchers present from the opposition party.

Or how about the funny business in Ohio were 30 poll watchers from True the Vote tried to force their way into polls with forged documents. Or the funny business in Florida where the governor refuses to extend the voting hours even though thousands have been unable to get into the polls to vote. Or the funny business in Pennsylvania where out of state Republican poll watchers are going into precinct only in minority dominated precinct centers. or the funny business in Homestead Pa where Republicans are staging outside of precincts demanding prospective voters show their ID before entering.

Talking with my sister who is an election judge in Texas. In her "class" she was told that if someone does not have an photo ID (even though not required) they should be given a "provisional" ballot which will then be tossed in the trash.

Oregon Election Worker Fired After Allegedly Altering Ballots For Republicans
An Oregon election worker under criminal investigation for changing ballots to help Republican candidates was fired, according to The Raw Story.

Clackamas County spokesperson Tim Heider said in a press release Monday that Deanna Swenson, 55, was "relieved of duty immediately after the alleged ballot tampering was discovered."

The website reports:

Contacted by Willamette Week, Swenson tearfully insisted that "only the two" ballots had been altered.
The Oregon Department of Justice began an investigation last week after an elections official reportedly observed ballots being altered.

You keep makinng great points for voter reform dog. Nothing could be more important than making sure ONLY legal registered (living) citizens should be allowed to vote. Maybe when Obama loses, you on the left will agree that an ID isn't all that much of a burden after all.

And not one of the instances of voter fraud would have been prevented by photo id.

I was in walmart today and didn't witness any shoplifters, therefore they must not exist.
