Sharing from a friend of mine:

I just sent the message below to my Congressman and both Senators.

"Now that the election is over, the most important thing you can do as my representative in Congress is to help restore the spirit of cooperation and compromise on which this country was founded. Don’t just reach across the aisle; forget that there is an aisle. Ignore your party and follow your own wisdom and values. Show your strength by NOT attacking the other party but acknowledging their good intentions and their good ideas. Work with ALL of your colleagues in Congress to find solutions that we can all live with. This is what I will be looking for from you when I decide how I vote the next time around."

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

One thing has has changed, President Obama is a second term president. He has more freedom to do what needs to be done without another election in the future.

Also, the big one, President Obama will get to nominate up to three new Supreme Court nominees.

I contend that something has changed.

In less than 24 hours, really in less than 12, there are countless accounts that there has been a new mandate to tax more and have the govt more involved with our lives.

People don't seem to understand that we re-elected a president, we did not decide to give up our personal lives.

This is only the beginning. I bet this is taken as a turn the US into Europe. Even Boner bent right over. Just more incentive not to work. Just wait and see. Less work because of regs and less benefit when you do it. I am calling it now, we were starting to see the end of widespread under the table work - it is going to skyrocket now.

So unless people become more realistic, much is about to change, and much more illegal activity is about to start.

Good post and message SC. As a demonstration of our gratitude for all the campaign ads, phone calls and junk mail we have been subjected to, it would be appropriate if all 300 million citizens emailed the above message to their representatives in Congress and the Whitehouse every single day for the next four years. Maybe one of the email spam companies could help out with this?

Something else has changed in my mind, Obama now has pressure to perform. He said he has more work to do and that he just needed 4 more years. I believe he ran a smear campaign against a good person. He is not the darling anymore. The pop vote was close. He is going to have to deal with the other 53% now. No more excuses on the Bush thing, he is inheriting himself now. I am doing better with it. Now if there is an issue I can now say "you voted for him, you were warned". Voting on social issues is not going to change the country fiscally.

Why does he have to deal with the 53%? He will never face election again. If, as I predict, we are in a much worse place 4 yrs from now....he will still retire a vastly rich president, and make millions to speak. I honestly think he doesn't really care if the rest of us suffer, and America suffers. He and his family are set for life.

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

But back to what SC posted. I'd love to see some compromise that actually benefits the country. I just can't see it from entrenched politicians. The only think they tend to compromise on is kicking the idea of addressing the coming entitlement bankruptcy down the road.

He won't deal with that 53%. He's and arrogant elitist. He'll shove thru what he thinks is best for us peasants whether we want it or not. Plan on more erosion of the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 14th amendments.
