so 24 hours after saying that he would not allow the House to consider tax increases, Boehner is now proposing tax hikes "under certain circumstances". Sounds like he is coming around to the Obama plan of $1 in tax increases for every $3 in spending cuts. amazing what an election will do.

The speaker offered no clue as to whether Republicans would relent from their insistence (made during fiscal negotiations last year) that any sort of tax reform package not constitute anything even remotely resembling a tax hike

The sad thing is...they won't cut spending. Govt. never does. They might cut the rate of growth of spending, but not actual spending like we all have to do when we are having budget issues. It is all smoke and mirrors.
Glad to hear they are using the term "tax increases" instead of "revenue increases", since they mean 2 completely different things.
Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!
