Under their new collective bargaining agreement, Transportation Security Administration officers get to spend more taxpayer money on their uniforms every year than a United States Marine Corps lieutenant can spend in a lifetime.
“TSA employees will see their uniform allowances nearly double to $446 per year,” the House Transportation Committee noted in a press release on the TSA’s new collective bargaining agreement. “By comparison, a combat Marine Lieutenant receives a one-time uniform allowance of $400. The cost of the increase in TSA uniform allowance is an estimated $9.63 million annually.”
This is why when we have tax discussions it is not cut and dry.
We, as a nation, have decided that this is the BEST use of this tax money. Increasing the allowance for those uniform has been decided to be more important than ANYTHING we don't fund, including feeding people that cannot feed themselves. Again, it is more important to provide security (good or bad) for rich people than feeding people that cannot.
Remember this the next time you or Lmoney post about how people can afford to pay more taxes. This is the kind of crap that makes people not want to. Thanks for bringing this up as someone on the liberal side of the spectrum.
By the way, I think your avatar is disrespectful to the president. He did not gloat, and the way he is dancing, actually makes me think you are making fun of the way you think black people dance as he dances his gloating dance. I understand what you are doing, I am just saying it could be misinterpreted.
And somehow I think the Marine uniforms are likely to suffer more damage while they do their job than TSA people in a climate controlled airport. Union versus non-union?

OTN, do you ever get out much? It's Gangnam style. You know, a popular dance around the world?
