For being the party of minorities, it is sad that it took over 200 years for this to happen. Oh wait, I forgot the 50's Dems were KKK members like Sen. Robert Byrd.

I think he's dead and no longer an active member of the Democratic Party. See how far the Democrats have come? What's the minority score on the Republican side, Fred?

1868: More Black Republicans in the Senate that the Dems ever attempted. (Reconstruction, look it up.)

Really? You have to go back to1868 to find a time when Republicans actually were an inclusive party? The rest of us are more interested in what the GOP stands for today than we are in ancient history.

Wow, Fred. Do you really think the Republican Party should promote the fact that it had two black Republicans in the Senate 125 years ago?

What's the minority score on the Republican side now, Fred? It's one congressman.

I don't think you should be trying to make that something to brag about.

Olympia Snowe, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Susan Collins, the Dems always seem to forget those.

Great! The Republican motto could be "Look at the minorities we used to have."

I'm talking about now, Fried. This session. If the party accurately reflects the makeup of the nation, or at least tries to, shouldn't it have a racially mixed representation? More importantly, why doesn't it?
