Are you looking at the chart you posted? Wages were going down in the Carter (Obama 1) years, then when Reagan took over it started to rise and went up about 50% since then. Nothing huge but from $16,000 to $24,000 is not flat.

And it is not what 'I' am talking about. I showed you the charts. And they are more recent than this one.

On the contrary most everyone who is not for wealth distribution and socialism disputes that. Only those who want handouts keep saying that the middle class needs more help. Yet I will almost guarantee those who say they don't have enough money for food, all have cell phones, cable, and luxury items that people use to do without when they needed to eat. Now they feel it is not a privilage but a right to have all of that and that others should have to pay for it if they make more money than them. It is a total Marxist mentality.

I'm not talking about handouts, I'm talking about livable wages and decent benefits..We work longer hours, have less vacation time, and less benefits than any industrialized country on earth. We work longer and harder for less..Thats no accident, and thats not a great country..Quality of life is my big issue, and it will be hard for my kids to have one..Shouldn't it be everyones big issue? Whats life all about anyway..Work until you die?

And even at 9%, we have less unemployment than those other industrialized countries you look up to.

Face it, the US is competing in a global economy and and one of the reasons we are still competing with China and Vietnam is that we are more productive & don't take months of vacation off.

:Whistle But you can do that if you want, move to a rust belt state, Congress is ready to pass six more months of extended unemployment benefits for them, so you can have another half year off with pay.

Our piece of the pie is shrinking, and its not because we arent working hard..It's because there is an organized war on the middle class..Wake up!

:chillpill: Lighten up, Francis. I am betting the middle class will still be here 20 years from now.

Maybe things are rough for you right now. I don't know your situation but you are way off on how bad our livable wages are. Here is a list and we are 6th in the world. And that is breaking it down using PPP which is Purchasing Power Parity. It includes wages and cost of living in each nation. We live in one of the best nations on earth and we make more per cost of living than all other nations other than 5.

Everyone should look at this chart.

It won't let my link work.
Try this one and click on list of countries by GDP PPP per capita.

This is why I never understand about people complaining about how poor our middle class is. Are you kidding me? Go try one of those other hundreds of nations below us and see how far your money goes there.

I know I am better off than my parents were at this point in their lives.

And even the poor have it much better than they did 20 years ago. When obesity rather than starvation is the #1 concern of the First Lady, you know we live in a land of plenty.
