No sane person could honestly say that what has happened to our society over the last 40 years, and particularly in the last five years, is normal.

Not only "normal", but preferable to the crap of the previous administration's 8 years....

Because none of that is happening. The government does not tell me what and how to live. I have not lost any freedoms granted by the constitution and bill of rights. The only brainwashing appears to have happened within the right wing echo chamber in which you live.

You Must wear a seatbelt, in NY you cannot order a Big Gulp, you can be watched without your permission, you will be patted down at an airport (illegal search), you will be forced to carry health insurance, the Patriot Act, all they need is probable cause to tap your phone, read your mail, etc, even if you have done nothing, you may be held indefinately, the gov can now listen in on your discusions between you and your attorney, the list goes on.

Who has read obamacare? What is in it? What is yet to surface?
