Syria has been readying their chemical weapons this week as Damascus is being surrounded by rebels. The US is warning the remnants of the goverment to not use them. But is there really much that the US can actually do? Sounds like an empty threat to me.

We're damned if we do and damned if we don't in this case, I'm afraid. The rest of the Arab world seems to be silent on this - at least I haven't seen/heard anything. Where is UAE, Dubai, Qatar, Saudi, etc.?
Russia is telling the world that Syria doesn't have very many chemical weapons. But what is a lot of chemical weapons to the former Soviet Union who used to run battle simulations in full chem gear.
