Rand Paul: Let Dems Pass Whatever They Want

06 Dec 2012 21:26 #1 by Jekyll
Quote: "I have yet another thought on how we can fix this. Why don't we let the Democrats pass whatever they want? If they are the party of higher taxes, all the Republicans vote present and let the Democrats raise taxes as high as they want to raise them, let Democrats in the Senate raise taxes, let the president sign it and then make them own the tax increase."
Thanks buddy, been sayin' that for a few days now. Let 'em do whatever the hell they want, why not? That's what the majority of America wants. Go for it.

Disagree. Let Obama's plan go of only taxing the 2% is a bad strategy for the GOP. Instead let the fiscal cliff go. Taxes raised on most everybody and both defense workers and GI's out of work.

At some point the people need to see first hand what raising taxes in a floundering economy can do. If Republicans don't want to be blamed WHEN we go back into reccession, they should stand down and watch the economy implode before 2014 when the people will be begging for common sense and less Democrats in conngress.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

That's a GREAT strategy: Republicans do nothing while the economy implodes then ask voters to elect them as the common sense candidates. They should go for it.

What would they have to gain if they go along with bad policies that bring us back into reccession?

Actually the GOP would be doing something. Helping to increase the money coming into the coffers and decreasing spending. The Fiscal Cliff legislation was created by both sides.

Yea but it's obvious the posturing going on is all that's going on. The Dems have it all figured out, let 'em do what they like.

But the liberal talking point is that lowering tax rates doesn't help job creation. So bringing back the Clinton tax increases shouldn't hurt the American economy.

I read today that Clinton himself now says his tax hikes were too large.

Republicans want to do nothing while the economy implodes? Didn't they already do that?
