"Almost 400 Former House Staffers Registered to Lobby in Last Two Years
In Government, News on December 15, 2012".........................

"
More than two in five former House staffers who registered as lobbyists went to one of Washington’s many lobbying firms. One in five went to lobby for a for-profit corporation, and another one in five went to lobby for a business or trade association. In other words, corporate America is capturing the lion’s share of former Hill staffers’ expertise.

The revolving door itself is not a problem, but when the government gives out billions in corporate welfare each year, then the political connections of the former staff become valuable. If the government left the market alone, and consumers decided which businesses succeeded or failed, then the value of these political connections and knowledge of the political process would be severely diminished."

:yeahthat: I have nothing more to add other than it's a rampant problem that they won't do anything about until we force them to. And it's because of things like this that the OWS came to be and continues today. If our media weren't so stupid/in the corporate pocket as well, we'd be hearing more of the positive things the OWS is doing.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

Why do people take thankless jobs as House staffers? To get paid off later.

If only the people of Colorado wanted to limit lobbying as much as they want to grow weed....but alas they don't....
