War On Christmas/McDonalds?

In the Denver Post this morning, there was a little blurb. McDonalds has asked their restaurants to stay open for Christmas, denying employees a day off.

Personally I like this idea, too many times I have been traveling on Christmas and would have loved having the option of grabbing a quick bite to eat during my journey.

But I am also kind of sad to see another holiday tradition ending, because the average franchise will make $5000 more that day.

It's ok... I'm sure every store has enough non-christians to staff the store that day.

It's not a "War on Christmas"...It's a "War on Workers"... But thanks for playing.

Well, if the employees are getting double pay for working on a holiday, you might find many volunteers. My SIL is a firefighter in Evergreen and she always signs up for holiday shifts because she needs the money.

I would imagine that there a more than a few folks out there who would be willing to work for the extra pay and to avoid the relatives! tongue:

Do you think everyone just stays home or goes to relatives houses on Xmas?

Try going to see a movie on Xmas day. It is the busiest you will ever see a theater.

I stay home. Since I stay home, that must mean everyone does.

Since I hold Christmas day dear to my heart, and would strenuously object to being told I have to work that day, That means everyone feels the same way...

Right?

That reminds me of one of my favorite businesses for born again Christians. This actually started as http://www.rapturepets.com as a joke, but several organizations have sprung that claim to be legit. Personally, if heaven does not allow dogs, then why go.

As the Apostle Paul describes in Thessalonians as quoted above, at some point in the future Jesus will come in the air, catch up the Church from the earth, and then return to heaven with the Church. This is known as the Rapture and it will be glorious. But what of our pets? Who will take care of our pets when we’re gone?

Who are these Volunteer Pet Caretakers and how do I know they’ll take good care of my pets?

Most Volunteer Pet Caretakers fit this description:

They are atheist or another non-Christian religion.
They love animals enough to register with us even though they do not believe there will be a Rapture (or are agnostic about it).
They are not paid, so they are not signing up simply to make a quick buck. In fact, they’ve agreed to care for the pets they rescue as their own, including being financially responsible for them.

Do you wonder what is going to happen to your pets when Jesus descends from Heaven to re-unite the Church with the Father taking all Christians - dead and alive - up to Heaven? Will your pets be left behind with no-one to care for them?
Have no fear! We at Post Rapture Pet Care are confirmed atheists and as such will be part of the left behind when the time comes. Just because we are atheists doesn't mean we are not animal lovers. We adore all kind of pets and would love to look after your pets after you are gone.
For a small donation of £69.99 pounds, we will make sure your pets are well fed and taken care of long after you and your family have been taken up.
