An Indiana man convicted of setting fire to a mosque in Ohio told a judge Wednesday that he committed the crimes because Fox News and conservative talk radio had convinced him that "most Muslims are terrorists." Randolph Linn, 52, plead guilty to all charges in connection to setting a fire at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo on Sept. 30 and is expected to serve 20 years in prison. Linn explained to the court that he had gotten "riled up" after watching Fox News. A mosque member at the trial said that when asked if he knew what Islam was, Linn replied, "No, I only know what I hear on Fox News and what I hear on radio."
Mosque arsonist tells court: ‘I only know what I hear on Fox News’
So video games don't make killers, but Fox News does create arsonists? Does Hollywood glamorize violence? Did Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid inspire Kelbold and Harris?
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
Gee, there must be a few million "low-intelligence" FauxNews watchers failing to accept responsibility for their stupidity... That's why the GOTP just lost the election, and the Right-wingers are in such disarray...
I apologise. My comment could be perceived as rude though not intended as such, merely saying that age, like mental issues are not inhibited or restricted by an age range and that certain actions are unacceptible, age is not an excuse nor a "way out".
For the record I myself don't 'watch' any news source but rather go through the daunting task of researching facts for myself, and STILL find myself very disheartened when the "you heard it here first" is succeeded by "we're sorry, we were wrong, here's the truth"...... (Admittedly its mildly embarassing when someone tries to make "small talk" by including something the average person would have witnessed on television and I'm completely oblivious to the "who", "what", "why" that they're referring. I don't even watch sports. I do have a life though, more so than others in my humble opinion. But I digress.)
