Fathers disappear from households across America

Big increase in single mothers

In every state, the portion of families where children have two parents, rather than one, has dropped significantly over the past decade. Even as the country added 160,000 families with children, the number of two-parent households decreased by 1.2 million. Fifteen million U.S. children, or 1 in 3, live without a father, and nearly 5 million live without a mother. In 1960, just 11 percent of American children lived in homes without fathers.

America is awash in poverty, crime, drugs and other problems, but more than perhaps anything else, it all comes down to this, said Vincent DiCaro, vice president of the National Fatherhood Initiative: Deal with absent fathers, and the rest follows.

And that my friends is one of the biggest long term problems we are facing. We are destroying the very basis of society. We can take this all the way back to LBJ's "War on Poverty" it has only grown since then. Yes there are divorces, abuse and many legitimate reasons single parent households. However we have created a monster with generations of unwed mothers on welfare and men who think they are men by having babies by as many women as possible, then never taking a single bit of responsibility.

lol ...this is our big problem? Really? And if you don't pay your child support in this country they garnish your wages, cancel your passport, and put you in jail....My brother flys for Sri Lanken airlines, lives there and in Viet Nam and they still come after him if he's just one day late...Theres no way to sherk your responisibilities in America unless youre homeless..

BTW-I'm 50 and I've been married 30+ years Grady, how bout you?

Luckily the birthrate keeps falling during the Obama recession. Loving couples are choosing to wait until the economy improves before concieving. Looters don't care. Better benefits in single parent households. And taking life advice from VL? He is the one who encouraged his daughter to screw her creditors. Real role model and upstanding citizen there.

All my 6 kids would have to stiff the banks, and it would still never amount to the screwing they've given us all in our lifetimes....

You feel bad for the banks Fred? :rofllol

I think its called the survival of the fittest Fred, or natural selection......Women wont breed or reproduce with bad or weak genes...One time a woman told me she wants to have 12 of my babies..My current wife wanted one every year for 15 years...It was always a major struggle to pull out..She'd wrap those legs around me at the right time and I barely got away most of the times

It isn't a matter of feeling sorry for the bank. It is doing the honorable thing of paying your debts. Instead you would prefer to stick it to the man. The looter idea that stealing from Citibank is OK. Even though Citibank will just pass on their losses to your fellow senior citizens.

Similar to the mentality in the OP. Breed them and leave. Let the taxpayers pay for my fertile spermatozoa.
