Would it not have the same effect if we reduce the scope and power of corporations in politics?

And how would you do that? Our politicians are addicted to that campaign money. Think the Supremest would stop it? And if you did take the corporations out of the picture couldn't private citizens like Donald Trump and Pat Stryker start buying elections.

I think we have to do both concurrently. End campaign contributions by corporations and PACS and other "entitites", have maximum donation amounts by individuals, and fund elections through a set taxpayer account. Then institute term limits.

No, I haven't been drinking today, but really really wish I could have...

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

One question I have with tax payer funded elections- who can run? What if 5000 people say I want to run for president, congress or whatever, who divides up the taxpayer campaign money? What if 1 Million people want to run for election.

I do like term limits. And campaign donation limits too.

If you want to be, press one. If you want not to be, press 2

Republicans are red, democrats are blue, neither of them, gives a flip about you.

I'd rather all politicians advertise themselves on public tv only and they all get limited time. And to make it more interesting, they should not be able to speak unless they are hooked up to a polygragh. Then maybe we could find some people who are honest and not able to buy an election with their own or other peoples money.
