(GOTP) is not part of the original quote, was expressed as GOTP rather than GOP as an insult. Not productive of anything except anger.

Sorry, since when was including the Tea Party in something regarding Republicans considered an insult? And by whom? I would say that is subjective.

Good idea. However as someone mentioned who is going to come look at this thread to see if their post was productive or crappy.

How about in the post itself, there be a standard line accessible from smilies or somewhere where you can hit a button that says: I found this unproductive because ___________ and they can fill in the blanks or select from some preselected ones. It gives notice, not that they will necessarily care, but how about after a limit of some number their posts get kicked into the ring.

IN NOVEMBER 2014, WE HAVE A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TO CLEAN OUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE AND ONE-THIRD OF THE SENATE! DONT BLOW IT!

“When white man find land, Indians running it, no taxes, no debt, plenty buffalo, plenty beaver, clean water. Women did all the work, Medicine man free. Indian man spend all day hunting and fishing; all night having sex. Only whit man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that.” Indian Chief Two Eagles

That goes on now. I believe the truer the unproductive statement because_____________is the more extreme the response.

Perhaps a thread like this can be mined by SC for some useful data.

I think it's more about highlighting who the most disruptiive and childish posters are and who's main goal is not to discuss and debate, but to divide and hate. The haters won't come here because they know what they will find. This thread will just prove a point and MAYBE help the defenders see the light.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

I asked two specific questions of the wild, unsourced, garbage from Fred, and what you posted (with the article that Fred is either too lazy or too incompetent to look up for himself), answered neither one of them.

Have a nice day.

I really like this idea, what a unique concept. Thanks soulshiner.

I would like to request that a :link: to the thread from which each quote comes is added here so that it's easier to track it back to its source. Doing it in the thread in which it happens is a more rational, and more direct way to deal with posts one doesn't like, but posting it here kind of makes it a "log" of sorts, sort of like you guys are "moderating" each other.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

I believe the issue is not that changing the name of GOP to GOTP is an insult, but that GOTP was added inside the quote so as to appear the original quote contained the word GOTP.

If LJ wanted to do that, why did she put it in parentheses to indicate it was NOT part of the original quote? Have you really never seen parentheses used before in quotes in your life?

I deliberately put it in parens/brackets to show that it was not part of the original quote. Make out of that whatever you like.

As Raees stated:

Sorry, since when was including the Tea Party in something regarding Republicans considered an insult? And by whom? I would say that is subjective.

I will continue to refer to the GOP as the GOTP because they have been taken over by the radical teabaggers...And until, and unless, that extremist minority loses control or shows some sign of intelligent life, I will continue to refer to them that way.

Does that clarify it?
