NRA is protecting gun manufacturers, not the Second Amendmen

Going to just steal the Astroturf TEA Party talking points? We are all just puppets why didn't I realize that? The NRA was originally formed to teach Americans how to shoot better. Handy skill to have during the upcoming wars.

Some alliances work more for the benefit of one party than the other. Like the AARP, the NRA has become more of a trade group. I'm rethinking my membership lately. There is a lot of road between gun bans and total anarchy. The NRA has been tending towards weapon anarchy lately. Sane and reasonable regulation does not void the second amendment. I think with sane and reasonable voices we can find a sweet spot. The NRA has not been supplying that voice lately.

:rofllol Guess what has sold more guns and high cap magazines than anything else? Not the NRA but fear of bans. Blame Dem politicians for filling America with AR-15's

Nothing... What are you now, the thread police?

I could care less if you think so... I posted something about the "NRA protecting gun manufacturers, more than the Second Amendment"... I stand by that statement. If you guys want to do your usual deflection and go off into the weeds about what the Colonials were doing to the Redcoats from behind trees, feel free. Surely you can start your own thread if you think that's so important.

It is the NRA fueling those fears. I read my magazine. They are feeding their main supporters, the manufacturers, quite ably. Just like the AARP sell their insurance with their magazine. If you can't think critically enough to see these connections then you aren't looking very hard. Taking positions based on partisanship instead of rationality has become the norm lately. It's very disappointing and makes it impossible to discuss rationally. If those little coffins weren't enough to make you give a d@mn, I don't know what will.

It was horrible what happened but why are the guns and magazines being blamed instead of Lanza? If a parent drowns their children we don't blame the water.

The guns and magazines made a horrific event even worse. Going in with a .45 he would not have been able to kill as many as quickly. It might not have prevented the event but not having those particular weapons available would likely have lessened the intensity. Just as if he had been able to walk into the school building with a vial of Anthrax. He could have killed hundreds, or in a larger building, thousands. Many people are capable of manufacturing such a bio weapon, but it is rarely used. If you could buy it at a store I'm guessing that you would see such events more often.

You can buy fertilizer and the Batman bad guy had loaded up his home with bombs built without even background checks.

Since Colorado has open carry, he could have just walked into the theater with his guns, without using the back door.

Like the guys walking around Portlandia with assault rifles? The only place I have OC'd was Jefferson during hunting season. I would advise against it in Denver and Aurora.

NRA protecting gun manufacturers?

Duh.

Post something interesting and not intuitively obvious and maybe you'll get more on-topic responses.
