I prefer to judge by the body of their work and why I listen to hours of NPR every day, and read the actual points the source material wants to highlight themselves.

How am i supposed to take these as anything but personal insults that add nothing to the discussion? Where are the objections from those who have been calling for a less vile 285, who want to discuss the issues and object to these types of posts? I would really like to see some of you act on what you are so desperate for and call posts like these out. Otherwise, you are showing that your words are empty and are really only interested in silencing the posters you don't like.

I would just move name calling threads to the Ring. So perhaps you could report the post and request this. If enough threads get moved there, we can have an all out shit show there or people will have incentive to stop having entire threads moved because they ruined them. The classmates will start to get more and more pissed at the offender, and hopefully not at the teacher.

I was merely asking a question of the person who wrote this "S***shiner" who said it wasn't meant to be this "Sh*tshiner". I was just trying to establish what kind of insult (if any) it was. I was in now way mocking your name and never addressed you personally... the question was for someone else who I have already forgotten. My appoligizies for any offense taken.

No insult. I was being nice just not overboard cuz I really don't think his name really reflects him. So I decided on something I could live with. Doesn't violate TOS and after seeing all the crap that is allowed, especially from LJ, the pet favorite, I will continue to call him S***shiner.
